To provide a thermal transfer sheet dispensing with heat treatment of a long period for forming a cured skin film of a heat-resistant lubricating layer, capable of preventing a dye stuff from being kicked back, capable of restraining sufficiently a printing work-up from being generated when thermally transferred, and capable of obtaining a printed matter of high quality free from color omission, in the thermal transfer sheet formed with a thermal transferrable coloring material layer on one face of a base material film, and formed with the heat-resistant lubricating layer on the other face thereof.
This thermal transfer sheet has the thermal transferrable coloring material layer 3 on the one face of the base material film 1, and formed with the heat-resistant lubricating layer 2 on the other face thereof, and the heat-resistant lubricating layer 2 contains a resin copolymerized with 25-100 pts.mass of hydrophobic monomer based on 100 pts.mass of methyl methacrylate monomer.
