Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate energy consumed by a device, by separating the semiconductor type starting device of a phase-split electric motor after it is started. SOLUTION: A thermally-actuated auxiliary switch 10, used in a compressor system for a refrigerator, has a U-shaped bimetal element 12, its one end is mounted on a substrate 16, on a high expansion side 12a of the element, a movable contact 32 is mounted, to be straightened to a fixed contact 32 mounted on a fixed contact supporter 18. In a PTC pile 36, winding resistor 38 or other electrically energizable heater or a heating device 34 shaped in an exhaust pipe of a compressor, this bimetal element 12 is given heat and warped, a semiconductor type starting device, after switched to its high resistance condition, is separated, energy consumed by this semiconductor type starting device is saved.
