PURPOSE: To provide a sealer particularly suitable for cars, which does not exhibit the flowability at normal temperatures and therefore may be handled with ease but may flow under the influence of heat and exhibit a high sealing effect after the hardening, by incorporating a thermosensitive thixotropic agent into a vinyl chloride resin.
CONSTITUTION: 10W50wt% vinyl chloride or vinyl chloride copolymer resin, 0.1W10wt% thermosensitive thixotropic agent (e.g. hydrogenated linseed oil, hydrogenated castor oil, or a low temperature melting type PE), 20W60wt% filler (e.g. calcium carbonate, or talk), 5W50wt% plasticizer (e.g. a phthalate ester) and 0.1W10wt% tackifier are kneaded to obtain the titled sealer that has horizontal and vertical flowabilities of not greater than 10mm at normal temperatures for 30min and a horizontal flowability of 10W200mm and a vertical flowability of 10W400mm at 140°C.
