Title:
THERMOMAGNETIC RECORDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5617372
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to make copies of a picture of wide width nearly up to size A4 while recording the picture, by forming a magnetic latent image on a magnetic tape by use of a thermal recording head.

CONSTITUTION: Magnetic tape 21, having magnetic recording layer 27 formed by coating plastic film 26 with chrominum dioxide together with an organic-resin binding agent, is as wide as A4 and made endless. Tape 21 is evenly magnetized by magnetizer 23 and thermal recording head 22 forms a magnetic latent image in accordance with information on an input picture. Head 22 is formed of many heating elements arrayed in a line and the heating elements are selectively fed with electric current to generate Joule heat. When evenly-magnetized tape 21 is heated up to the Curie point or higher, only the heated part is demagnetized. The magnetic latent image can therefore be recorded on tape 21 and then tape 21 is processed, transcribed and fixed.
