Title:
THERMOMETER FOR LOW TEMPERATURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01187423
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure temperature over a wide range from low temperature to extremely low temperature by arranging and isolating superconducting materials, providing electrodes on both sides and connecting lead wires, and taking a measurement based upon the value of a current flowing through them. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 2 is coated with the isolate thin-film type superconducting materials 3-6 which differ in superconduction critical temperature. Batteries 3a and 6b are connected on both breadthwise sides of those superconducting materials 3-6 and the lead wires 7 and 8 are connected. Then they are overcoated with a synthetic resin coating member 9 for the purpose of protection. Then when measured temperature reaches the critical temperature of one of the superconducting materials 3-6, the resistance of the corresponding superconducting material becomes zero. For the purpose, the value of the current flowing between the lead wires 7 and 8 is measured to measure the temperature.
