Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic and/or melt-moldable material composition having optical properties about refractive index n and Abbe number ν meeting formulae (H) and (J), heat resistance >=80 deg.C in glass transition temperature, transparency >=70% in light transmittance, and density of <=2.0 g/cm<3> , and to provide an optical component constructed by including the above material composition. 1.45=205-100 n...(J). SOLUTION: This thermoplastic material composition has a refractive index n2 and Abbe number ν2 given by formulae (E), (F) and (G) and comprises a thermoplastic resin having specific physical properties and titanium-based oxide inorganic microparticles whose mean diameter di meets formula (C) and titanium content Ci is given by formula (D) 1 nm<=di <=200 nm...(C) 50 wt.%<=Ci <=59.5 wt.%...(D) 1.45=205-100 n2 ...(F) n2 >=n1 +0.01...(G).
