To obtain the subject composition keeping characteristic properties of thermoplastic resin, exhibiting excellent impact resistance and water- absorption resistance and useful for mechanism element of machines, etc., by compounding a thermoplastic resin with a specific polyketone copolymer at a specific ratio.
The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin such as polyamide resin, polyester resin and styrene resin with (B) 0.1-300 pts.wt. of a polyketone copolymer containing (B1) the recurring unit of formula I and (B2) the recurring unit of formula II at a B2/B1 molar ratio of 0.01-0.10. The composition is preferably further compounded with (C) 5-140 pts.wt. of a filler based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A. The composition can be produced e.g. by using respectively specific amounts of the components A and B and melting and kneading the mixture with a twin-screw extruder at 150-350°C.
