The thermoplastic resin film for protecting a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet comprises a composite film wherein a uniaxially or biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin and an ethylenic resin are laminated. This thermoplastic resin film is laminated on the printing surface of the label base material having the printing surface on its one surface and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on its other surface to form a protective layer.
