To simultaneously improve light transmittance and a haze (light scattering properties) in a thermoplastic resin sheet used for manufacturing a light transmitting plate such as cover covering a light-emitting part of an illuminator and display plate, of an illumination advertising display apparatus.
The thermoplastic resin sheet for the light transmitting plate is obtained by producing the sheet from 99.8-95 wt.% of a thermoplastic resin having ≥50°C glass transition temperature, 0.1-1 wt.% of titanium oxide and 0.1-4 wt.% of inert particles having ≤2 refractive index such as talc, regulating the total light transmittance to ≥20 and ≤70% and providing a substantially amorphous state. In the process, the light transmittance is regulated by the amount of the compounded titanium oxide and the light scattering properties are regulated by the amount of the compounded inert particles. Thereby, the light transmittance and haze can simultaneously be improved.
