Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formulation of thermosensitive liposomes, and more specifically, a liposomal formulation comprising phospholipids and a surface active agent.SOLUTION: A liposomal formulation comprises a suspension of liposomes having a gel-phase lipid bilayer and doxorubicin sulfate entrapped inside the liposomes. The liposomal formulation supports long-term storage at temperatures less than or equal to about 8°C, controls degradate formation to maximize product potency, and releases their contents at mild hyperthermic temperatures.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
