PURPOSE: To improve the adhesion of UV ink in a thermosensitive recording material in which a thermosensitive coloring layer containing an electron donative coloring dye and a color developing compound is placed on a substrate by installing a back coat layer incorporated with a specified amount of a surfactant having a specified HLB value on the back of the support.
CONSTITUTION: In a thermosensitive recording material used for a thermosensitive label for POS and others, a thermosensitive layer containing a transparent or light-color electron donative coloring dye and an electron accepting color developing compound which reacts with the dye to make the dye develop color is placed on one side of a support made of paper, synthetic paper, or a plastic film. An over coat layer containing a water soluble resin is placed on the thermosensitive coloring layer, while a back coat layer is installed on the back of the support. A surfactant with a HLB value of 1.0-3.9 in an amount of 0.1-0.5wt.pts to 100wt.pts of the total solid content of the back coat layer is incorporated into the back coat layer to improve the lipophilic property of the surface of the overcoat layer.
