Title:
THERMOSETTING COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3483036
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermosetting composite material for electrical and electronic equipment and automotive members, free from dropping of a resin and having good tearing stability by forming a thermosetting rein into a fibrous form, blending the fiberous material with a fiberous substrate in wet state, forming the blend into an arbitrary shape and drying the material.
CONSTITUTION: In producing a thermosetting composite material containing a fibrous thermosetting resin capable of exhibiting thermosetting properties in the presence (absence) of a curing agent and a fibrous substrate, a curable resin (e.g. novolak type phenol resin) is treated with a rotary opening machine to which a number of pins are attached to form into a fiber having ≤100μm average fiber diameter and ≥10 ratio (L/D) of fiber length L to average fiber diameter D and the fiber is subjected to wet mixing with a fibrous substrate (e.g. cellulose fiber) and water using a Henschel mixer, etc., and then the mixture is formed in a wet formed body having an arbitrary shape by a paper making machine, etc., and the resultant wet formed body is dried to provide the objective thermosetting composite material under safe and hygienic circumstance without causing dust explosion in dry production, fire by ignition and dust pollution.
