PURPOSE: To provide titled compsn. which produces a coating film having high hardness, good appearance, chemical resistance and weathring resistance, containing a specified copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 5W60wt% of a monomer having a radical of formula (wherein R is H, 1W16C alkyl) in side chain such as vinyl p-tert-butylbenzoate, (B) 5W 50wt% of a monomer having hydroxyl gp, epoxy gp. or carboxyl gp. such as 2- hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, glycidyl (meth)acrylate, maleic acid (or anhydride), and (C) 0W90wt% of another copolymerizable monomer, are polymerized in a solvent and in the presence of a polymn. initiator at a temp. of room temp.W200°C for 2W30hr. to obtain a copolymer having a number-average MW of 1,000W100,000 Then 40W95pts.wt. of this copolymer is mixed with 60W5pts.wt. of a hardener such as amino resin, polyisocyanate.
