Title:
THERMOSETTING RESIN COMPOSITION FOR POWDER COATING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3716946
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermosetting composition for powder coating excellent in various properties, especially yellowing resistance, of coating films, storage stability and in especially weathering resistance by adding a transesterification catalyst to fluoro copolymers each having specified groups.
SOLUTION: This composition comprises a fluoro copolymer (A) having carboxylic ester groups and having a softening point of about 70 to about 150°C and a fluorine content of 7wt.% or above, a fluoro copolymer (B) having hydroxyl groups and having a fluorine content of 7wt.% or above and a transesterification catalyst (C) and having a total fluorine content of copolymers A and B of 12% or above. An example of copolymer A is a copolymer consisting essentially of a fluorovinyl monomer, a dialkyl unsaturated dicarboxylate and vinyl ether and/or a vinyl carboxylate. Component C is particularly desirably a sulfonic compound.
