To obtain a thickening agent for a thermoplastic polyester resin effective for remarkably increasing the melt viscosity of the thermoplastic polyester resin, enabling stable molding in extrusion molding, blow molding, calendering, injection molding and expansion molding and giving a molded product having excellent surface property, and to obtain a thermoplastic polyester resin composition containing the thickening agent.
The thickening agent for the thermoplastic polyester resin is produced by coating 100 pts.wt. of a polymer particle produced by suspension polymerization and having a glass transition temperature of ≥60°C and a volume-average particle diameter of 50-500 μm with 0.5-30 pts.wt. of an emulsion polymer produced by emulsion polymerization. The polymer particle produced by suspension polymerization is reactive with the thermoplastic polyester resin. This invention further provides the thermoplastic polyester resin composition and its molded product.
