Title:
THICKNESS-VARYING LAMINATED PIEZOELECTRIC ACTUATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09191134
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To enhance responsivity and attain bending displacement by laminating a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers on one side and the other side of a core material in such a matter that the laminated piezoelectric layers are gradually thinned outward from the core material side.

A plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers 2,... are laminated on one side of a core material 32, and a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers 2,... are laminated also on the other side of the core material 32. These piezoelectric ceramic layers 2 are formed in such a manner that their thickness is gradually reduced as they go outward from the core material 32 side. The piezoelectric substance composing the piezoelectric ceramic layers 2 is a solid solution, designated as PZT, of lead zirconate titanate, lead zirconate or the like. The core material 32 uses the same material as the ceramics composing the piezoelectric ceramic layers 2. The obtains a laminated piezoelectric actuator that is displaced only by a small amount, offers a high speed of response and a high transducing efficiency, and is capable of being displaced by bending.
