Abstract:

To provide a thiirane compound high in both the refractive index and the Abbe number, and useful as a material of an optical resin.

The thiirane compound has a structure represented by formula (1), wherein: X₁ and X₂ are each independently an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, but at least one of X₁ and X₂ is a sulfur atom; and Y₁ to Y₄ are each independently a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group.
