Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin-film element which does not produce a defect of an external view such as a slackened part, a pinhole or the like by a method wherein a protective layer is formed of a flexible sheet and an adhesive layer which has been applied to one main face of the flexible sheet. CONSTITUTION:A photovoltaic-element base material in which a thinfilm layer composed of many photovoltaic element patterns which have laminated a lower- part electrode 2, an amorphous silicon layer 3 and an upper-part electrode 4 on a glass substrate 1 is provided with a flexible sheet 7 25mum thick composed of a polyester-resin and with an ester-based hot-melt adhesive layer 8 20mum thick. In addition, a protective sheet 11 in which hollowedout holes 10 to expose electrode terminals 9 of the photovoltaic element patterns is piled up by using alignment marks 12. This assembly is heated; the adhesive layer 8 is melted, cooled and hardened. When the protective layer 11 composed of the flexible sheet 7 and the adhesive layer 8 is pasted on a substrate face provided with the thin-film layer in this manner, it is possible to form a protective film which does not produce a defect of an external view such as a slackened part, a pinhole or the like of a resin.
