Abstract:

To provide a thin type CRT manufacturable by a simple process and allowing proper electron beam control and to provide its manufacturing method.

A signal modulation electrode 24, a vertical deflection electrode 28 and a horizontal deflection electrode 30 are formed of conductive films formed on one-side surfaces of sheet members 40, 42 and 44 provided with multiple electron passing holes (long holes 52 and through-holes 48 and 56). Thereby, since the electrodes (the modulation electrode 24, the deflection electrode 28 and the deflection electrode 30(comprising thick-film conductor layers are formed only by disposing the sheet members 40, 42 and 44 at predetermined positions between an electron beam control electrode 22 and one surface (phosphor surface) of a front plate, the electrodes 24, 28 and 32 can easily be mounted, and distortion is hardly generated like the case where they are formed with thin metal plates. Thereby, the difficulties of handling and mounting work for forming the electrodes are relaxed, and suitable electron beam control is facilitated in this thin type CRT.
