PURPOSE: To facilitate production of a thin-walled belt with high dimensional accuracy by forming a thin-walled cylindrical formed body by injecting a rubber into a cavity formed by a metallic mold body and a core, and after removing the metallic mold, reversing the inner and the outer surface of this formed body, and making the obtained outer surface to be the carrying surface.
CONSTITUTION: A cavity of a thin-walled cylindrical shape to form a thin-walled belt is formed by means of a metallic mold body 1 and a core 2. A recessed part to form this cavity 3 is provided to the metallic body 1, and a heater 4 to achieve heating or insulation is usually inserted into the metallic mold body 1. The cavity 3 is provided with at least one ring gate 5 at an intermediate part in the axial direction, and the distance where the injected rubber from a spool 6 flows is shortened, preventing generation of troubles such as scorch. After the thin-walled cylindrical formed body is formed and vulcanized by such a forming device, the metallic mold body 1 is opened, and removed, and the inner and the outer surfaces of the formed body are reversed. The desired thin-walled belt is completed by making the obtained outer surface to be the carrying surface.
