PURPOSE: To obtain the novel compound which is useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for leukopenia caused by chemotherapeutic and radiotherapeutic treatment or as an immunopotentiation agent in the therapy with bone marrow transplantation or in the treatment for osteomyelodysplasia syndrome, because it has action of immunological enhancement.
CONSTITUTION: A compound is represented by formula I [R1, R2 are substituted carbamoyl or acyl where at least one is carbamoyl, the other, acyl; R3, R4 are H, alkyl; R5 is amino group; X is carbonyl, sulfonyl, the formula: -CONH-(CH2)n-NHCO- (n is an integer of 1-10); Y comprises 1 to 7 amino acids and has an amino acid sequence optionally containing sulfonamide linkages], for example, [2(R)-amino-7-octadecylcarbamoyloxy-6(R)-palmitoyloxy-4-thia- heptanoyl]-L-glutamic t-butyl ester. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by condensation reaction of a compound of formula II with compounds of the formula H-Y, if desired, followed by deprotection.
