Abstract:

To provide a new thiol having a specific ring structure, and to provide a method for producing the same.

This thiol (a salt thereof) is shown by general formula (1) HS-(- B1-)p-(-B2-)q-C1 (wherein, SH is a thiol group; B1 is a bivalent aryl or heteroaryl, B2 is a bivalent alicyclic hydrocarbon group; C1 is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl or acyloxy; p and q are each an integer of 1-5, (p+q) being 3-10). The method for producing the thiol comprises a chlorosulfonylation step and a reduction step.
