PURPOSE: To automate the thread joining action in a roving process by providing an air splicer, a pair of fixing means, a first thread operating means for setting only a first thread means to a first cutting means, and a second thread operating means for setting only a second thread to a second cutting means.
CONSTITUTION: A first thread 100 and a second thread 101 are set to an air splicer 75 and are fixed by a pair of fixing hands 79 and 80 at both the ends of the air splicer 75. The air splicer is operated to join the threads 100 and 101. Subsequently, a new thread hand 71 sets one end of the first thread 100 to a new thread clipper 88, which cuts one end of the first thread 100. Next, the old thread hand 69 sets one end of the second thread 101, opposed to one end of the first thread 100 to an old thread clipper 87, which cuts one end of the second thread 101. Therefore, the first thread 100 is joined to the second thread into one thread.
