PURPOSE: To surely perform thread separation by constituting a device of thread separating rollers, which are provided before a rewinding package being overlapped laterally and vertically and rotated at the time of ending to hold fluff of a thread, passing through a space of the rollers, and to separate the thread, and feelers, provided before the thread separating rollers, for detecting the thread.

CONSTITUTION: When a thread end in a side of a package P, during being wound back, is sucked by a suction mouth 7 and introduced into a thread ending device by sensing a thread cut and detecting a thread defect by a slub catcher, thread separating rollers 3 to 6 are rotated in a direction of an arrow head, and each thread, passing between the rollers 3, 5, is guided to a space surrounded by the four thread separating rollers. Each thread, whose fluff is put between the rollers 3, 4 or the rollers 5, 6, is dragged in a direction of separating from each other, following rotation of the rollers 3 to 6. The thread traverses a space between feelers 1, 2 to generate an electric signal, when the electric signals are simultaneously generated, the package P and the rollers 3 to 6 are stopped.
