To produce excellent thread package while improving the mold releasing property of a member so as to reduce the quantity of adhesion of the oil agent and while restricting the generation of fuzz and thread cast-off by forming at least one part of a member for applying the traverse motion to a thread of a carbon hard film.
A traverse unit 50 of a thread winding device is provided with traverse mechanism 100, 200, 300 arranged in parallel with each other and a thread handling area regulation guide 3. For example, the traverse mechanism 100 has a blade 101 in one end of an outer shaft 103 and a blade 102 in one end of an inner shaft 104. At least one part of at least one of these blades as members for applying the traverse motion to a thread and the thread handling area regulation guide 3 is formed with a carbon hard film. As a carbon hard film, a diamond film or a diamond-like carbon film is desirable. Hardness of the film is set at 1500 Hv or more of Vickers hardness on points of abrasion resistance and durability.
