The three-dimensional shape of a measurement object article is measured, and the three-dimensional data of the external surface of the nail section of the finger tip section of a user is prepared by using a measuring instrument 4 which outputs the three-dimensional data of the measurement object article. Then, the three-dimensional data of a bonding surface 13 which is bonded to the external surface of the nail section in a nail chip 1 is prepared by using the three-dimensional data of the external surface of the nail section, and the three-dimensional data of the nail chip 1 including the three-dimensional data of the bonding surface 13 is prepared. Thus, the preparation of the nail chip 1 which is excellent in suitability with the own nail 2 becomes possible. In addition, when the user purchases the nail chip 1 again, the nail chip 1 can easily be manufactured without adjusting the nail chip 1 so as to suit the own nail 2 by reutilizing the three-dimensional data of the nail chip 1.
