To record as three-dimensional digital data any faulty part on the surface of a structure.
A three-dimensional digital recording system comprises an input device 10 that transmits a pulse wave as long as it is in contact with any faulty part on the surface of a structure, and three distance measuring devices 20 which, when they receive a pulse wave from the input device 10, transmit pulse waves. The input device 10 has a control unit 15 that figures out the distance between the input device 10 and each of the three distance measuring devices 20 from the difference between the time when the input device 10 transmitted the pulse wave and the time when it has received the pulse wave from each of the three distance measuring devices 20 and figures out positional information on the input device 10 from the distances, and a memory 13 that stores the positional information.
