To obtain a pattern image and a texture image simply and quickly in a three-dimensional image detector using a pattern projection method.
A pattern projection adapter 50 is mounted on a lens barrel 11 of a digital camera 10. Light incident from an opening 51L is reflected by a rotating mirror 57L and a fixed mirror 58L, and reflected light is guided to an imaging optical system 11A in the camera 10 via an infrared absorption filter 54 so as to be received by a right half face 28R on a CCD 28. Light incident from an opening 51R is passed through a visible light absorption filter 53, and it is reflected by a rotating mirror 57R and a fixed mirror 58R so as to be received by a left half face 28L on the CCD 28. A stripe-shaped pattern from a projection device 52 is made to agree with a main beam of light LL in the center of the right half face 28R so as to be projected on a subject. The texture image of the subject is imaged on the right half face 28R, and the pattern image is imaged on the left half face 28L.
