Abstract:
To provide a three-phase brushless DC motor which can be rotationally driven with high performance in both the rotations in a prescribed direction of a rotor magnet and in its inverse direction.SOLUTION: A three-phase brushless DC motor comprises a stator core, a rotor magnet installed rotatably to a stator, and magnetic pole detecting means 24 for detecting a magnetic pole of the rotor magnet. The magnetic pole detecting means has a first magnetic pole sensor set 20 for detecting the magnetic pole of the rotor magnet at normal rotation, and a second magnetic pole sensor set 22 for detecting the magnetic pole of the rotor magnet at reverse rotation. At the normal rotation, a first switching control signal is generated based on a detection signal from the first magnetic pole sensor set, and a driving current supplied to drive coils 8a to 8i is controlled based on the first switching control signal. Also at the reverse rotation, a second switching control signal is generated based on a detection signal from the second magnetic pole sensor set, and a driving current supplied to the drive coils is controlled based on the second switching control signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
