PURPOSE: To control opening and closing of a throttle valve without delay of response, by providing a guide slot on the part formed integrally at the supporting member of a steering handle and having a sliding member to which an end portion of a throttle cable is interconnected, supported by the guide slot.
CONSTITUTION: An outboard engine lncludes a steering handle 25 secured on a propulsion unit via a steering bracket, and its propulsion unit is rotated by the handle 25 in a horizontal plane. In this case, the steering handle 25 is built up with a supporting member 26 secured on the steering racket and a grip 27 mounted rotatably on its one end. One end of a rotating body 28 is fixed to the grip 27, and other end of the rotating body is supported rotably in a supporting hole 31 of a stay 30 fixed to the supporting member 26. Further, a projecting helical guiding portion 32 formed at a middle portion of the rotating body 28 is engaged with a recess 41 of a sliding member 40 to which the end portion of a throttle cable 35 is secured, and thereby the sliding member 40 is slided along a guide slot 42 formed at an inner surface of the supporting member 26.
