PURPOSE: To easily and surely manufacture a throw away tip having a complicated external form by filling raw powder for a sintered body of high hardness and high wear resistance in a recessed portion of a thin plate-like base material sintered body to be subjected to heating, pressurizing and sintering.

CONSTITUTION: Raw powder is press processed with a metal mold to form a base metal 1 being a base material sintered body having a recessed portion 10 at a corner part and a bolt hole 11 at the center, and is sintered temporarily. Next, sintered body raw powder of a polycrystal diamond or cubic crystalline boron nitride to become a sintered body 23 of high hardness and high wear resistance is filled, with addition of a sintering assistant, in the recessed portion 10, and then sintered under the condition of pressure 45000atm. or higher and temperature 1400-1600°C. The base material sintered body and the sintered body of high hardness and high wear resistance to become a cutting edge 3 are thus strongly fixed to each other never to cause peeling off during machining. Even a throw away tip having a complicated external form can be thereby easily manufactured.
