Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a throw away tip where the sintered compact of high hardness which is composed mainly of diamond or boron nitride of high pressure phase type with high joining strength and extremely excellent workability is joined to the base metal composed of hard material.
CONSTITUTION: In a tip where a sintered compact 2 of high hardness which is composed mainly of diamond or boron nitride of high pressure phase is joined to a corner part of the base metal 1 composed of hard material, the side surface 21 of the sintered compact of high hardness and the wall abutted on the side surface of the base metal 1 are formed to curved surface of 7R to 20R when the height H of the sintered compact 2 of high hardness is set constant.
