To provide a thrust roller bearing of a swash plate type compressor, capable of improving abrasion resistance and seize resistance by suppressing the running out of an oil film on the outer peripheral surface of a roller caused by contact between a column part and an inclining connection part of a retainer.
The thrust roller bearing is arranged between end surfaces of boss parts 50, 55 of a cylinder and an end surface of a boss part 61 of a swash plate 60 in the swash plate type compressor. The bearing includes the retainer 20 comprising both circular parts 21, 22 on the inner/outer diameter sides and the column part 24 which forms a pocket 23 for connecting the both circular parts 21, 22 and holding a plurality of rollers 11 to be able to roll and forming an M-shaped cross section. The column part 24 of the retainer 20 includes a radial intermediate part 25, radial both side parts 26, and the inclining connection parts 27. Inclining grooves 30, having inclined bottom surfaces 31 recessed in the circumferential direction and gradually deepened from the radial both side parts 26 sides toward the radial intermediate part 25 side, are formed on the end surfaces of the inclining connection parts 27 of the column part 24. Thereby contact to the rollers 11 is avoided.
