Title:
THUMB TURN ENGAGING MECHANISM FOR FITTINGS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3968233
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thumb turn engaging mechanism for fittings, which prevents a sliding door lock from being released even if a thief breaks a glass and inserts his hand into a broken portion to slide a thumb turn.
SOLUTION: The thumb turn engaging mechanism for the fittings, is constructed in the following manner. First, a power converting vertical moving member for converting a driving force of an inner cylinder is incorporated in a mounting housing box arranged on an outdoor side of a sliding door, and the thumb turn having a clutch button bearing cylinder is arranged on an indoor side of the sliding door. Then, an interlocking member which interlocks with the thumb turn via a clutch button incorporated in the bearing cylinder, and rotates a locking lug, is ascendably/descendably arranged in the mounting housing box. Further, a control plate for moving a direction that intersects a moving direction of the power converting vertical moving member, is interposed between the interlocking member and the power converting vertical moving member, so as to release a clutched state of the clutch button engaging with the interlocking member, when the inner cylinder is operated by a key.
