PURPOSE: To obtain an easily workable tile carpet having good feeling of stepping and improved carpeting stability, etc., by laminating the top surface layer consisting of a fibrous material on the first and second polymer layers consisting of a thermoplastic polymer containing a specific amount of an inorganic filler, etc. one after another.
CONSTITUTION: A tile carpet obtained by coating (A) the top layer formed from a fibrous material consisting of a woven or knitted fabric, particularly a napped fabric having a pile layer with (B) a paste of a thermoplastic polymer material, e.g. containing polyvinyl chloride, plasticizer, inorganic filler (250W300%, based on the matrix weight, mica or silicate), at 1,500g/m2 basis weight to form the first polymer layer, coating the resultant layer with a paste consisting of the same materials as in the first polymer layer with the inorganic filler in an amount of 30% less than that in the layer to form the second polymer layer having a smaller thickness than that of the first polymer layer, and heating the laminate to bind the respective layers to one another. An intermediate base fabric layer or rear base fabric layer or both are placed between the above-mentioned firs and second polymer layers to make the tile carpet withstand the deformation thereof, and the workability of the carpet is improved.
