To improve the flowing/draining property by providing a coupling member on a batten for holding a tile, providing a spacer on a batten main body to form a gap between it and a roof face, and coupling the hook section of a tile with the coupling member of the batten for tiling.

A hook projection 21 on the back face of a tile 20 is hooked on the batten main body 11 of a batten 10, a hook section 22 such as a projection or a recess on the back face of the tile 20 is coupled with a coupling member 12 in the lateral direction, and the tiles 20 are tiled in parallel at the prescribed ascent size and layout size in the grade direction and lateral direction of a roof face. Since a spacer 13 is provided on the lower face of the batten main body 11 of the batten 10, a gap is formed between the batten main body 11 and the roof face. Even if rain water enters below the tile 20, the rain water flows downward through the gap and is not retained at the portion of the batten 10. The gap is formed by the spacer 13 between the batten main body 11 and the roof face, and a good flowing/draining property can be secured even if the rain water enters below the tile 20.
