To provide a tilt hinge with a small-sized structure capable of obtaining high radial friction torque.
A press washer 19 is pressurized by a nut 20 screwed to a screw part 12d of a shaft 12 of the tilt hinge 10, and a washer 18 is displaced. By this displacement, pressurizing force is given to the side face of a friction ring 17, the external diameter of the friction ring is increased, and the outer peripheral face 17b of the friction ring 17 is pressure welded to the inner peripheral face 16c of a holder 16. This causes generation of frictional force in the radial direction between the outer peripheral face 17b of the friction ring 17 and the inner peripheral face 16c upon rotation of the holder 16 in regard to the shaft 12. By the radial friction torque generated by the frictional force, when the shaft 12 and the holder 16 rotates relatively, a display main body 4 is locked at desired opening/closing positions in regard to a personal computer main body 13.
