Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce engagement noise by providing a backlash elimination mechanism between driven gears and idle gears. CONSTITUTION:A drive gear attached to a crank shaft and driven gears 56, 57 attached to cam shafts 32, 33 are interlocked through idle gears 54, 55. A backlash elimination mechanism 69 which consists of auxiliary gears 70, and torsional springs 71 giving torque in one direction to adjoining gears 56, 57 mutually is provided between the driven gears 56, 57 and the idle gears 54, 55. The idle gears 54, 55 are energized to the drive gear by the spring force of the backlash elimination mechanism 69. With this arrangement, the engagement state of gears is maintained properly so that engagement noise can be reduced.
