PURPOSE: To achieve a simple and smaller construction dispensing with a regulating member by controlling memory contents of the stable stop position of a rotor according to the odd or even member of revolutions of the rotor of a step motor to be rotated with an external control member to select a drive pulse after the resetting to release when time is corrected.
CONSTITUTION: A pointer step motor 12 is rotated with a stem to correct time, a 1sec pulse output division circuit 15 is reset through a reset switch 32 synchronizing it and a switch 17 is turned ON. Then, a counter 20 counts revolutions of a rotor 11a depending on a pulse due to induced current with a coil 13 of the motor 12 and a polarity decision circuit 21 decides on the polarity in the stable stop position of the rotor 11a when the time correction is ended or the resetting is made to release according to the odd or even number of the revolutions. According to the results of the decision, an FF for memorizing the stable stop position of the rotor 11a in a driving circuit 16 is controlled and allows the circuit 16 to select a drive pulse after the resetting is made to release and the motor 12 fails to rotate in the error direction. This achieve a simple and smaller construction of a time piece dispensing with a regulating member.
