Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a hidden Markov model (FVQHMM) by fuzzy vector quantization which eliminates a deficiency of training data and its partiality and has no mathematical contradiction by setting the sum of loads to a logarithmic value of the generation probability of an input vector.
CONSTITUTION: A cluster generation probability storage means stores the generation probability of each cluster obtained by clustering a training vector set and an assignment vector calculating means calculates an assignment vector for each input vector cluster. Then a load sum calculating means calculates the load sum based upon the degree of assignment for the input vector as the logarithmic value of each cluster generation probability value and regards the load sum as the logarithmic value of the generation probability of the input vector. An HMM generating device consists of, for example, a feature extraction part 101, a word pattern storage part 102, a fuzzy clustering part 103, a centroid storage part 104, a buffer memory 105, a vector assignment degree calculation and storage part 106, a parameter estimation part 107, and parameter storage parts 108 and 109.
