PURPOSE: To provide excellent advance angle characteristics in a range from cold time to heating-up, by a method wherein a timer spring for a titled device is formed with a first spring and a second spring which is contracted through operation of a temperature-sensitive valve, the first and the second spring being located in juxtaposition with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A timer advance angle device, provided for a distribution type fuel injection pump, is provided with a timer 3 which is formed such that a timer piston 5 is slidably inserted into a timer housing 4. The timer piston 5 is balanced by means of a timer spring 6 and a fuel pressure guided through a passage 9, and a fuel timing is controlled in respons to a fuel pressure. In which case, the timer spring 6 is formed with first and second springs 10 and 11 being disposed in juxtaposition with each other. The first spring 10 is located between the timer housing 4 and the timer piston 5, and the second spring 11 is located between a temperature-sensitive valve 12, expanded and contracted according to temperature, and the timer piston 5. The temperature-sensitive valve 12 is formed with a temperature-sensitive member 13 and a piston 14.
