Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the green strength of a supporting carcass to enhance workability by forming the supporting carcass from 1 to 2.5 phr of syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene and polyisoprene rubber or the like.

CONSTITUTION: In a pneumatic tire comprising a circumferential rubber tread, a supporting carcass therefor, two spaced beads, and two rubber sidewalls, the supporting carcass is comprised of from 1 to 2.5 phr of syndiotactic-1,2- polybutadiene having a melting point which is within the temperature range of 120 to 190°C and at least one kind of rubber selected from the group consisting of polyisoprene, styrene-butadiene, and butadiene rubber. Thereby green strength (mechanical strength of elastomer prior to vulcanization) is increased to enhance workability.
