Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rupture damage in a carcass cord by forming a proximity area approaching a carcass ply main body beyond an outer end of bead rubber in a carcass winding part, and in the bead core, covering a part touching a carcass ply by a protective rubber layer mixed with short fiber.
SOLUTION: A carcass winding part 9B is formed into a high turn-up winding structure extending to the radial outside beyond an outer end 13 of a bead rubber, and this extending part forms a proximity area 15 approaching a carcass ply main body 9A. In a bead core 5, a contact area 17 touching a carcass is covered by a protective rubber layer 19. In this way, a corner part of the bead core 5 is circularly covered smoothly by means of the protective rubber layer 19, so that a bend and contact pressure of the carcass can be reduced, while direct contact between a carcass cord and a bead wire can be prevented. Consequently, rupture damage in the carcass cord can be reduced effectively.
