To reduce the volume of metal wires separated and recovered from a tire, in recycling tires that use the metal wires as a reinforced material.
The device for recovering metal wires in a tire is composed of a primary crushing machine 1, a rotary screen 2, a secondary crushing machine 3, a separator 4, a compressor 5, a conveyor belt 6, a rubber material recovering container 7, and a metal wire recovering container 8. Crushed pieces crushed by the primary and the secondary crushing machines are separated into the metal wires 9 and a rubber material 12, and the metal wires are carried to the compressor. The compressor is composed of a screw conveyor section 13 and a compression section 14. The metal wires are deformed by rotational force of the screw conveyor, and adjacent metal wires are liable to get entangled. This prevents the entangled metal wires from mutually returning to its original shapes even after compressive force is released, thereby reducing the volume of the metal wires.
