PURPOSE: A tire rubber formulation composition markedly improved in steering stability and braking performance during running, obtained by adding specified polymerized rosin ester and specified furnace carbon to a rubber.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. rubber component is mixed with 1W30pts.wt. polymerized rosin ester of a softening point ≥100°C and 60W150pts.wt. furnace carbon of a specific surface area (N2SA) ≥80m2/g. The polymerized rosin ester used is one having a softening point as measured according to JISK5903, ≥100°C. When this softening point is below 100°C, the loss of hardness of a tire during running is so large that the steering stability or the stability of cornering are decreased. As the polymerized rosin ester, one having a conversion of rosin of 20%, for example, glycerol ester, or pentaerythritol ester is particularly desirable. Said specific surface area (N2SA) is a value measured by the nitrogen adsorption method as stipulated in ASTMD3037.
