Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a tire tread rubber compsn. which exhibits a high abrasion resistance and a low heat build-up while retaining a high resilience by compounding a rubber component with a specified amt. of a specific carbon black.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. rubber component comprising a synthetic diene rubber and/or a natural rubber with 30-100 pts.wt. carbon black which has characteristics satisfying the following relations: 75≤ nitrogen-adsorption specific surface area (m2/g) ≤125, 70≤ CTAB specific surface area (m2/g) ≤120, 90≤ specific tinting strength (%) ≤1,250, 105≤ DBP absorption number of compressed sample (ml/100g) ≤130, 0.60≤Δst/Dst≤0.95 (wherein Dst is a Stokes-mode diameter of carbon black aggregate measured with a disk centrifuge apparatus; and ΔDst is a half-value width of the distribution of Dst), 18≤ mean particle diameter under an electron microscope (nm) ≤28, and (CTAB specific surface +5.83)<225.
