Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium dioxide-contg. polyester compsn. containing well-dispersed titanium dioxide which shows reduced metal abrasion while maintaining its heat resistance.
SOLUTION: A compsn. satisfies the following requirements: a) the average particle dia ranges from 0.1-0.5, b) the number of big particles with the particle dia. of more than 3 μm is not more than 15,000/mg, c) the number of bit particles with the particle dia. of more than 4 μm is not more than 7,500/mg, d) P2O5 is contained in the range from 0.4-0.6 wt.% on the basis of the total wt. of titanium dioxide, e) K2O is contained in the range from 0.1-0.3 wt.% on the basis of the total wt. of titanium dioxide, f) a ratio of strong heat wt. loss is not more than 0.4 wt.%, g) a wt. ratio of rutile-type titanium dioxide to anatase-tape one is not more than 9×10-3, h) the crystal size ranges from 10 nm to 150 nm, and i) Fe is substantially not contained.
