PURPOSE: To automatically set the address of a unit to be controlled by a main control unit.
CONSTITUTION: Independent base parts 21-27 are provided with slots 31-37 and serially connected by a compound signal line 29. A main control unit 39 or units 41-45 to be controlled by this main control unit are connected through the slots 31-37 to the base parts 21-27. The CPU unit 39 is provided with an address signal part 47 for selecting one of address signal lines in the compound signal line 29 and outputting an address signal. The base parts 23-27 of the input/output units 41-45 are provided with address signal terminals 49-53 to be one terminal among plural address signal lines, the input/output units 41-45 are connected to this terminal, and address signals are transmitted while passing the other address signal lines.
