Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an aluminum alloy clad plate excellent in formability, wear resistance and baking hardenability by cladding low Mg-content Al-Mg base alloy on both surfaces of high Cu-content Al-Cu base alloy.

CONSTITUTION: The Al-Cu base alloy contg., by wt.%, 3.2-6.0% Cu is taken as a core material, the Al-Mg base alloy contg. 0.2-1.8% Mg is taken as a skin material and the skin materials are cladded on both surfaces of the core material by making thickness of the skin material into 3-20% per one side of the entire thickness. In this way, favorable formability, wear resistance and baking hardenability are attained. Further, it is respectively allowed for the Al-Cu base alloy of the core material to contain 0.2-1.8% Mg, 0.2-2.5% Si and small quantities of Zn, Mn, Cr, Zr, V, Fe, Ti, etc., and for the Al-Mg base alloy of the skin material to contain small quantities of specified elements of Mg, Zn, Cu, Cr, Zr, V Fe, Si, Ti, etc.
