Title:
LIGHT PULSE GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0613691
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To generate a stable pulsated output by extracting 1st and 2nd beams from an optical path and distributing these beams through 1st and 2nd optical filters, having an optical pass band which intersect with the approximately center operating frequency of a laser. CONSTITUTION: The optical path of a laser is separated into 1st and 2nd optical beams 33, 34. First and second filters are constituted of a single wedge-like etalon 37, and the optical path of the laser is distributed through 1st and 2nd filters 37. The free spectral range of a Fabry-Perot resonator 24 in a laser link is deviated only by frequency sufficient to generate an optical path length change indicated as a change in the wavelength of light which is transmitted through the optical path from the same frequency as the pulse repetition speed of the laser. A differential amplifier 42 detects the intensity difference of light detected by respective detectors 39, 40, and the length of the optical path of the ring laser is adjusted by a length adjuster 43 to compensate the variation in false temperature induced length.
